Julio & Carla Arriola
Julio and Carla grew up in two different parts of Mexico with completely different backgrounds. Julio in the Northwest, close to the hot shores of the Gulf of California, was the firstborn of a non-religious family. Carla, the grand-daughter of American Baptist Missionaries to Mexico, was born and raised in Guadalajara, where she and Julio met when he was in College. Julio came to Christ and was called to ministry in Guadalajara. Right after they got married, they decided to go to Bible College in Argentina to get ready for the adventure of following the call of serving Jesus completely with their lives.
Since 2003, Julio and his family have been doing ministry in Texas and Northwest Arkansas, where the hand of God has been evident throughout his ministry serving as a Youth Pastor for two years Rosenberg, Texas, Evangelistic Director for four years in Missouri City, Texas, Worship Pastor, and Director of Music for the SBC.
In 2005, Julio became a Worship Pastor at Sugar Creek. In the spring of 2011, after several years of waiting, Julio became a citizen of the United States of America; and a long-time dream came true. In 2011, he also received his Bachelor of Science in Religion from Liberty University, another dream fulfilled. He is currently pursuing his Master’s Degree in Theological Studies.
In the summer of 2011, God called Julio to serve as the Worship Pastor of Cross Church, alongside Senior Pastor Dr. Ronnie Floyd, overseeing the Worship Ministries of all five of the Cross Church Campuses. He served as the Music Leader for the Annual Meeting of the Southern Baptist Convention in Columbus, Ohio in 2015 and In Saint Louis, Missouri in 2016.
Julio and Carla, along with their three children, Daniel(14), David(12) and Elizabeth(10), are passionate about living life to the fullest by following God’s will for their lives. As they were serving in Cross Church God called them to reach people from the metropolitan area of Guadalajara, Mexico with the life-giving message of Jesus.
Julio and Carla believe God has led them to plant life-giving churches that organically and supernaturally multiply into many more churches in order to reach at least 10% of the population of almost 6 million people of this amazing city. But they will start with one: VIDA Church.
